Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was launched by prime minister Narendra Modi on the 15th of March 2014. On the same day, approximately 15 million bank account was opened under the scheme. This PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is applicable to 20 to 65 years age group people, that aims to expand and make affordable access to financial services such as bank accounts, remittances, credit, insurance, and pensions.
- There is no need to keep a minimum balance from any person who opens a bank account under this scheme. And after 6 months, the person is also provided with an off overdraft facility of up to Rs 10000 / -. Also, annual interest is paid on your deposit and a free rupee debit card is also provided.
- If a person does not have a valid identity. He can also open his account through this scheme, which comes under the “small account” category. Which is regularized within a year?
- Account opening and bank transactions are through the business correspondent.
- Bio-metric based account opening and transactions are available through Business Correspondent. It makes banking tasks easier for illiterate people.
- The government subsidy is directly transferred to the beneficiary’s account. This minimizes delays and leakage to obtain service.
- Accidental insurance cover of Rs. 2 lakhs.

2 Atal Pension Yojana (APY)
Scheme and It’s Benefits:
Under Atal Pension Yojana scheme, the Government of India shares ₹1,000 per year to each NPS (Nationa Pension Scheme) account opened in the year 2010-11 and for the next 3 years, that is, 2011–12, 2012–13 and 2013-14. The profit was receivable only to people who joined the NPS with a minimum share of ₹1,000 and a maximum contribution of ₹12,000 per annum. The scheme was declared by the Finance Minister in Budget 2010-11. This pension scheme is only for 18 to 40 years old people.
3 Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)
As per the PMJJBY scheme, All those who are between 18 and 50 under this scheme can apply for this insurance scheme. In this, the applicant will have to make Rs 330 / – once a year. In lieu of which an amount of Rs.200000/ – will be provided to the nominee on the death of the applicant. You can also renew each year.
- On the growing age of 55 years (age near birth day) subject to annual renewal up to that date (entry, however, will not be possible beyond the age of 50 years).
- Ending of account with the Bank or insufficiency of balance to keep the insurance in force.
- A candidate can join PMJJBY with one Insurance company with one bank account only.
4 Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
As per the PMSBY scheme, In case of applicant’s accidental death or full disablement, the payment to the nominee will be 2 lakh and in case of Fragmental permanent disability 1 lakh. Complete disability has been defined as the deficit of use in both eyes, hands or feet. Fragmental Permanent disability has been defined as loss of use in one eye, hand or foot. The Scheme is available to people in the age group 18 to 70 years with a bank account facility.
It is also interesting to know that In one installment, 12 per year is to be deducted from the account holder bank account through the ‘debit auto-debit’ facility.
5 Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a Micro unit development and refinance agency ltd. Under MUDRA Yojana bank /MFI’s/ NBFCs provides loans up to 10 Lac. It provides loans in three categories which are the Shishu covering up to 50000/-, Kishor covering up to 50000 – 500000/- and for the Tarun, a category covering up to 5 Lac and up to 10 Lac.
- Shishu: loans up to 50,000/-
- Kishor: loans above 50,000/- and up to 5 lakh
- Tarun: loans above 5 lakh and up to 10 lakh
Mudra scheme goals to promote entrepreneurship for the young generation. Therefore, Funding from MUDRA schemes is two different types i.e. Micro Credit Scheme (MCS) and Refinance Scheme for Banks/NBFCs. 6 Standup India
Standup India was initiated Indian Government on 5th April 2016 to endorsement entrepreneurship among women and SC & ST communities. Under the scheme, the bank provides loans between Rs. 10 Lakh to Rs. 1 CR. for SC/ST and for women setting up new enterprises.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Govt of India are providing affordable houses to all Urban and Gramin people under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana . As per the official statistics, Approximately 10 Million houses to be created by the officials until March 2022. Hence, Many of the houses has been allotted under this scheme. It is an affordable housing scheme for the urban poor with a target of building 20 million affordable houses by 31 March 2022. PM Awas Yojana has two types i.e. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-U) for Urban and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G).
The special thing about Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is that you are given a subsidy of 2.67 lakh on the loan given to the house. Which makes your home affordable for you. Sarkar is working on this plan in three phases, the first of which is to construct the building in 100 cities by March 2015-2017. While the second phase has to be constructed in 200 cities by March 2017-2019 and the last phase is to complete the construction work in all the remaining cities.
